This application, developed by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA), offers a user-friendly yet efficient solution for estimating air leakage from ductwork. Designed for engineers, architects, designers, and contractors, this tool facilitates accurate assessments of ductwork leakage. It also simplifies the process of establishing pass/fail criteria for properly specified Duct Air Leakage Tests (DALT).
- Users can aggregate various ductwork sections of differing sizes and shapes to determine total allowable leakage.
- The application adopts the methodology detailed in SMACNA’s HVAC Air Duct Leakage Manual and incorporates suggested leakage classes from the latest edition of the manual.
- The methodology employed complies with ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, IGCC Version 2, IMC, and the UMC standards.
